Welcome to the only Craft Brewery in Anderson County, TN. Our craft brewery, growing tap room, restaurant and beer garden (with trout pond) opened September 8, 2017. We are happy to announce that we continue to expand our operation and hours for the sole reason that “We really like you!!”. Our taproom, which is shared with Appalachian Outdoor Center, is full of large windows which provide the feel of being at one with nature. The downstairs space now boasts sixteen taps. Currently, fourteen of the taps are our own creation while one is reserved for a delicious rotating Gypsy Circus cider or mead and another is reserved for a rotating sour tap. Our upstairs space is used for overflow seating with music and TVs but also functions as a laid back place to enjoy a board game, cards or darts. For our locals and regulars, please don’t think we’re moving your cheese just to mess with you. Our ultimate goal is to capture all of the potential that lies in our wonderful location for your enjoyment. We can be dull knives at times so if you have any brilliant ideas that you think we should try, please by all means, let us know!
So after a great day on Norris Lake or enjoying the vast array of nearby outdoor activities, stop in and kick back with some of Tennessee’s best craft beer and food. After all, is there really a better way to celebrate that huge trout that you just caught across the street in the beautiful Clinch River than a great Craft Beer in a remarkable setting? We think not!
The beer taps flow and the kitchen is open from 4-9 on Wednesday &Thursday and 1-9 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come check it out!.
We are only twenty minutes from downtown Knoxville, in historic Norris, TN, just below the dam at Norris Lake and Norris Dam State Park. We have the 2700 acre Norris Watershed with hiking, biking and horseback trails directly behind us. Did I mention that the beautiful Clinch River is right across the street?
Our unique location is the former home of the TVA Aquatics Laboratory and full of local lore, mysteries, and a grand amount of history. Browse a bit at the Appalachia Outdoor Center, rent a kayak or canoe, hit the trails by hoof or bike, or simply contemplate the rainbow trout in the pond, sip a brew and be thankful for life! We also just started renting hammocks and bocce ball games. These are perfect for across the street in the Walnut orchard. String a hammock along the cool riverbank and Songbird trail while playing a relaxing game of bocce ball for a super laid back afternoon. We also just installed three regulation dart boards in the upstairs cards and darts room. You will need to bring your own steel tipped darts and only adults (18 years old) are allowed in the dart room for reasons any parent could imagine. As a side note, we have been known to discount a beer in exchange for that dusty board game in your closet.
Jordan Skeen (Head Brewer) and Alex Shirey (Asst Brewer/Mgr) have brewed quite a few different styles of beer since our opening in September 2017 and we can confidently say we haven’t had a dud yet. Knoxville local legend and our resident hero, Chef Brandon Cruze will continuously surprise your palate with his unique creations that just beg to be shared with a fresh beer from the brewery. We’re saving a chair for you.
NOTE: Google Maps works better at finding our unique location than Maps. When all else fails follow the signs for Rt 441 and Norris Dam. It is well worth the trek!
